Boyum Portal database setup

For every SAP Business One company database you need to connect to, you must create a database in the Portal.

It is not allowed to link an SAP Business One database to multiple Boyum Cloud databases.

The following fields are available during database setup:

  • Active: Defines whether the database is in use.
  • Default settings: If multiple databases are going to be set up on the same server, you can define one database as master. The service layer URL, user name and password of the master database are used by other database definitions by default. The master database serves only as a template for other databases and cannot be used as a database.
  • Name: The descriptive name of the database. This is displayed on the Boyum Cloud database selection page.
  • Database name: The database name in SAP Business One.
  • URL: The public address of the SAP Business One Service Layer. For example, https://<address>:50000/b1s/v1/. This URL must be accessible through port 50000 from the IP addresses listed in Connect to the SAP Business One Service Layer.
  • Username and password: The credentials used by Boyum Cloud synchronization tasks to connect to the SAP Business One Service Layer.
  • Order: A numeric value that defines the display order of the databases in the Portal and in Boyum Cloud.
  • Region: The region where the Boyum Cloud services run and where the data is stored. This value cannot be changed.
  • Active: Defines whether the database is active. Inactive databases are ignored by Boyum Cloud.

Note: Two default databases are automatically created when creating a new license. These databases must be updated before they can be used.

When creating or modifying a database, it can take up to one minute before the changes are available on Boyum Cloud.

User groups in the Boyum Portal

User groups are used to define access rules for users. You can define the databases that a user group has access to, and the permissions the users have in the user group.

Note: When modifying database permissions, it can take up to one minute before the changes are available on Boyum Cloud.

Users in the Boyum Portal

Boyum Cloud users must be created on the Portal in the Users section.

The following fields are available during user setup:

  • Active: Determines whether a user is active. Inactive users cannot be used, and do not count in the total license usage.
  • Name: The user name that is displayed.
  • Email: The e-mail address of the user. The e-mail address is used when logging in to Boyum Cloud.
  • User group: Each user must belong to a user group. This determines the database access and the permissions of the users.
  • SAP Business One username and SAP Business One  password: The credentials used by the user when connecting to the SAP Business One Service Layer. If left empty, Boyum Cloud will ask these credentials when logging in.
  • Send activation e-mail: If enabled, a welcome e-mail is sent to when a user is first created.

Note: When modifying database permissions, it can take up to one minute before the changes are available on Boyum Cloud.

It is possible to create multiple users with the same e-mail address for different customers, for example for partner consultants. When a user is removed from the portal, and with this the last instance of that e-mail address is removed, then the user is also removed from Boyum Cloud.

Users can maintain their own password and, optionally set up two-factor authentication on the https://account.boyum-it.com page.

Download a two-factor authentication app like Microsoft Authenticator for Windows Phone, Android or iOS or Google Authenticator for Android or iOS.
